Starbucks launches winter menu, adds espresso drink
There is a new coffee shop in town that serves Spanish coffee. Starbucks just announced its winter menu, which includes new and returning items, as well as an espresso drink from Spain called Cortado.
What is a Cortado?
As steamed milk cuts through the intensity of espresso, the word “cortado” comes from the Spanish verb cortar, which means “to cut.”.
Starbucks’ Cortado joins the company’s espresso-based beverages such as its Latte, Americano, Macchiato, and Espresso Con Panna.
A new Brown Sugar Oatmilk Cortado is available to customers who wish to order a sweeter, non-dairy alternative to the drink.
Other Winter Menu Items
The green siren will also feature new and returning favorites such as:
- Pistachio Latte: Starbucks’ newest beverage is infused with a pistachio flavor and topped with brown butter. It can be ordered hot, iced, or as a Frappuccino blended beverage.
- Pistachio Cream Cold Brew: Starbucks Cold Brew, sweetened with vanilla syrup, topped with pistachio cream cold foam and salted brown buttery sprinkles, is returning for a limited time only.
- Spicy Falafel Pocket: The new vegan menu item is a lavash pocket filled with hummus, roasted red bell peppers, pickled onions, and falafel.
- Vanilla Bean Custard Danish: A return of a limited-time treat, this baked treat features layers of sugared Danish dough filled with vanilla custard.

Additionally, Starbucks has changed how it sweetens its matcha powder in response to a popular request from customers for adjusted sweetness.
